My thoughts

So sorry I missed the meeting on Wednesday! New work = new commitments. Here are my thoughts on the book - I wanted to like it more than I did. I didn't feel a connection to Henry at all, and it made the story less for me. I hated the way the son's character was written, perhaps because of his use of "Pops" all the time. It felt demeaning and as though he was constantly being sarcastic to his father. Perhaps that set the tone for me for the majority of the book.

I did really enjoy the character of the cafeteria lady and Keiko's father. Those were my two favourite characters.

Halfway done

So I'm halfway through this month's selection of "Hotel on the corner of Bitter and Sweet". Have some strong opinions about it and I can't wait to discuss it with the group!

Wouldn't it be interesting to head to Seattle to check out the areas they discuss in the book? I think so!

Hey Ladies,
